Below, read Marla's story:
Amy was sharing with me that before Marla was
brought to your facility,
she had 14 puppies. She kept 13 out of 14 of those puppies alive until
she was able to make it to you. Once she was there, it was discovered
that she had heartworms. Apparently, the foster parents that were
keeping Marla loved her spirit so much, that they paid for Marla's
heartworm treatment and started the "Marla's Fund" to help other dogs
that have heartworms have a fighting chance. I understand that Marla's
Fund is now defunct, but what a legacy this sweet dog left!!! That's why
there is a very special place in Amy's heart for your facility. Not only
because she got Marla from y'all, but that other's gave Marla a fighting
chance and y'all gave her the treatment she needed as a result. I
thought that was such a great story!
